Things to do in the spring
As winter fades away and spring starts to bloom, the Pacific Northwest comes alive
Bellewood Farms, located in Bellingham, Washington, is a picturesque orchard that spans across 62 acres of lush green pastures. The farm is renowned for its high-quality produce, including apples, cherries, pears, berries, and other fruits and vegetables. Springtime at Bellewood Farms is always an exciting time, with a range of activities and events for visitors to enjoy.
One of the farm’s most magical events is the Blossom Festival, which celebrates the arrival of spring and the blooming of the apple, cherry, and pear blossoms that cover the orchard’s rows of trees. The Blossom Festival typically takes place in late April or early May, depending on when the blossoms are at their peak.
Visitors to the Blossom Festival can take a leisurely stroll through the orchard, marveling at the sweet fragrance and soft pink and white petals that cover the branches.
In addition to the beautiful blossoms, the Blossom Festival at Bellewood Farms offers a variety of delicious treats, including fresh-baked pies, apple cider donuts, and other apple-based treats. Families can also enjoy a fun farm experience with their well-behaved dogs and kids.
Another event that Bellewood Farms hosts during the spring season is the annual Easter celebration. This event takes place on April 8th and 9th from 9am to 3pm and is a great way for families to kick off their spring season, get some fresh air, and have lots of fun.
During the Easter celebration, visitors can grab a tasty lunch or cider donuts at the Ten Mile Cafe. Kids and families can also take a free photo with the Easter Bunny and enjoy live music. Tractor train rides out to the orchard are also available, where visitors can shop for plant starts.
For $5, children can play fun games on the Bunny Trail, which is open to children 12 and under. Meanwhile, adults can grab a cocktail, hard cider, or beer on tap or check out the farm-made spirits in the distillery tasting room.
Overall, the Blossom Festival at Bellewood Farms and the Easter celebration are wonderful events that celebrate the beauty and bounty of spring. With a range of activities and events, there is something for everyone to enjoy. So if you find yourself in the Bellingham area in late April or early May, be sure to check out the Blossom Festival at Bellewood Farms and the Easter celebration for a fun-filled day on the farm!
