Just a short drive from the Farmstead is Bellingham, arguably one of the best craft-brew scenes in the Northwest. As of June 2020, Whatcom County had 17 breweries – 14 of which are within Bellingham city limits.
Here’s a roundup of our top five favorites breweries in Bellingham and everything you need to know about them!
Aslan Brewing Co.
Aslan opened in 2014 and has been a staple of Downtown Bellingham since. Committed to organic, locally sourced goods and low-impact practices, Aslan aims for sustainability and betterment of their community. With a variety of beers on tap and a delicious menu of food, you won’t leave Aslan unhappy.
The brewpub has indoor and outdoor seating, is family friendly and Fido is welcome on the patio. Aslan also has a second location, Aslan Depot, that is 21+.

Twin Sisters Brewing Company
Twin Sisters is one of the newer kids on the block, open since 2018, but don’t let that fool you – it’s a gem of a spot. There’s a taproom that’s 21+ as well as a spacious restaurant for all ages with a variety of food and drinks, including beer, wine and cocktails.
Twin Sisters also has a beautiful, open-air beer garden (the biggest in town!) that is open on warm nights, perfect for the family or to meet up with friends and play lawn games with a cold one. Plus, it’s dog friendly!

Boundary Bay Brewery
Boundary Bay is Bellingham’s oldest brewery, established in 1995, so it is a must visit! A community staple, Boundary Bay offers handcrafted, award-winning beer and fresh, local food in its taproom and family-friendly bistro.
They also have a deck for outdoor dining and a dog-friendly beer garden, perfect for warm summer nights.

Chuckanut Brewery
Founded in 2008, Chuckanut Brewery is an award-winning brewery with two locations, the one in Bellingham called “North Nut.” Offering local, fresh foods to pair with their beers, the space has a dining room, waterside patio and covered outdoor space that are fit for all ages. Chuckanut also has a bar space for guests 21+.

Stones Throw Brewery
Sustainability, community and adventure – that is what Stones Throw Brewery aims to capture. Built from shipping containers (have you ever heard of that before?!), Stones Throw is a unique space with various indoor and outdoor seating areas.
Opened in 2016 and located in historic Fairhaven, the taproom is a welcoming spot for like-minded people, and it’s a dog and kid friendly environment. Although they don’t have a kitchen, Stones Throw has rotating food trucks on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and outside food is welcome at the brewery. They also offer wine!
