Welcome to Field Camping at Oostema Farmstead, your quiet getaway in the heart of the countryside.
Set on open farmland with wide views of the mountains and fields, this is camping at its simplest. No crowds. No noisy neighbors. Just space to relax, unwind, and breathe.
Field Camping is best suited for guests traveling in fully self-contained RVs or camper vans. No Tent or pop ups. There are no hookups or restroom facilities in the field itself, so you’ll want to be comfortable using the facilities in your own RV. Farm restrooms and an outdoor shower are available elsewhere on the property, about a 2-3 minute walk away.
Whether you’re here for one night or a few, you’ll enjoy calm surroundings, starry skies, and maybe a curious cow or two in the distance (don’t worry, they won’t be near you).
This space is designed for adults who appreciate nature, quiet mornings, and evenings spent watching the sunset, not packed sites or busy campgrounds.

Yes, it is field grass, however. It is not lush but dry and rocky. Just roughing it on the pasture.

Regrettably, we are unable to accommodate children on the Farmstead. As a working farm, machinery and animals create potential safety for younger people. We have a minimum age requirement of 16 years. Your understanding in prioritizing the safety of all is greatly appreciated.
We are pleased to accommodate one dog per RV booking. There is an additional charge extra per night for your furry friend. We also kindly request your cooperation in adhering to our Doggy Rules, which can be found here.
In the field, the dog must not bark at all, as the area is located within the cow’s pastures.
Yes, we do allow generators, but be respectful of your fellow campers. We will still require quiet time from 10 pm until 7 am. So no generators during the night and only when it is necessary during the day time.
If you are fully self-contained, this is a perfect area for you, since this area doesn’t have restroom facilities. There is a 2- 15 minute walk to the main campground for the facilities.
A Quick Note About Restroom Facilities
We kindly ask that all guests arrive fully self-contained, meaning your rig should have its own restroom setup. While we do provide a portable toilet onsite for backup or convenience, it’s not intended as the primary facility for daily use.
This helps us maintain a clean, comfortable experience for everyone—and keeps things running smoothly on the farm.

Yes, we do provide a few picnic tables. This area is a first come first serve open dispursed camping. We can not guarantee a table.
You have access to the Farmstead Laundry Area, located in the Farmstead Barn Office and offers both a washer and dryer. We are on the honor system, so bring some extra dollars along, or you can pay with Vemno on-site.
No, this is off-grid. If you need wifi, be sure to bring your own.
Yes, any guest who is staying more than 2 nights in a nonseptic hook-up can use the dump station for free, when you depart. Guests staying only one night will be asked to pay a fee.
Quiet time around the Farmstead is from 10 pm until 7 am. Please use soft voices during this time and respect your fellow guests.
The campground is a shared space with other campers and there may be up to 4 RVs on the field. IN addition, you can also enjoy shared use of the garden with both other guests and us, the owners (who you will often find tending and working in the garden).

Unfortunately, do to the area in which the field camping is located, which is near the cows and their pasture. We do not allow any open flames for a campfire. Please bring a propane one.
We only offer two weeks maximum.

We do have portables and a shower, they are located in the main campground. There is a walk to get to the campground from the field.
Cancellation must be made by the Lead Guest in writing. If the reservation is canceled before the remaining balance is due, your 25% deposit will be retained but no further charges will be payable. The full payment will be retained if the reservation is canceled after the balance payment has been made. There will be no refund. We highly recommend the Lead Guest purchase travel insurance so that if the booking has to be canceled at any time they don’t lose any monies under this policy.
If you’re traveling through the Pacific Northwest and need a safe place to leave your RV while you take a cruise, visit Canada, fly home, or simply spend a few days exploring without your RV, we may be able to accommodate short-term RV storage on our farm.
Availability is limited and depends on the time of year, so please reach out with:

• Whether you’ll be staying with us before or after storage
