Policies & booking terms

Guests & ages

• Your reservation covers the number of guests listed when you book. Additional or unregistered guests aren't permitted without our approval ahead of time.
• Because we're a working farm, all guests must be 16 or older, and the person booking must be 21 or older.
• Traveling with a child? Reach out first. We sometimes make an exception for one well-behaved older child.
• Quiet hours are 10 PM to 7 AM, so everyone on the farm can rest.

Rental agreement

Our farm-stay insurance requires a signed rental agreement for every stay. We'll send you a link to sign it after you book. If you'd like to read it before you book, just ask.

Payments

For bookings made directly with us:

• A 25% down payment is charged when you book.
• The rest is charged automatically 45 days before you arrive, unless we've made other arrangements with you.
• Little Farmhouse and Barn Cabin stays booked on our website also include a refundable security deposit.
• If a payment doesn't go through, please update your payment information promptly to keep your reservation.
• All charges appear as Oostema Farmstead on your card statement.

Cancellations

For bookings made directly with us:

• Before the rest is charged (45 days before you arrive): we keep your 25% down payment, with no further charges.
• After the rest is paid: no refund.

We strongly encourage travel insurance.

Booked through another site? That site's payment and cancellation policy applies to your booking. Everything else on this page applies to every stay.

Dogs

We're happy to welcome dogs to the farm. A pet fee applies.

• Little Farmhouse and Barn Cabin: one dog under 50 lbs.
• RV sites: up to two well-behaved dogs per site.
• Our insurance doesn't allow pit bulls, Rottweilers, Akitas or wolf mixes.

By agreeing to these terms, you also accept our Dogs at the Farmstead guidelines, which explain how to enjoy the farm safely with your dog.

Farm life & safety

• Farm life means surprises can happen. Power outages, appliance issues or weather interruptions are possible. We'll always do our best to fix any problem quickly, but refunds aren't issued for these events.
• The Farmstead is a working farm with livestock, electric fences and equipment. Please respect all signs, stay clear of restricted areas, and enjoy the cattle from outside the fences.
• Guests are responsible for their own safety and that of their group. Oostema Farmstead is not liable for injuries or losses except in cases of gross negligence.

Caring for the farm

• The speed limit on the gravel driveway is 10 mph.
• No drones or fireworks on or near the property.
• Please don't nail, screw into or cut any trees.

Lost & found

We can return items left behind, with shipping at your cost. Unclaimed items are discarded after 30 days.
