The cabin is fully equipped with a cozy bed and a portable heater, so there’s no need to worry about bringing your own tent or camping gear. 

The real highlight of this camping experience, however, is the beautiful setting at Oostema Farmstead. Situated on 117 acres of operating farm, guests can explore the farm’s wagyu cows, chickens, pig, and goat, as well as 55 acres of raspberry fields. And when you’re ready to venture out, you’ll find charming towns like Lynden and Bellingham nearby, with their specialty shops, restaurants, and cafes.

 

The Space

You may enjoy all the best aspects of camping with some extra comforts you miss in a tent. With our Tiny Barn, you get solid walls and a roof over your head to protect you from the elements and give you added comfort.

All you need to do is bring your camping gear. It is a lovely time for a getaway as there is still so much to do in the area, so if you are looking for a breakaway to relax and recharge the batteries, the Tiny Barn offers the perfect opportunity to escape to the Farmstead.

1. Ease into Camping. No camping experience? No problem! The Tiny Barn is the perfect way to test the camping waters — no camping skills are required.

2. Make packing easier: While staying in the Tiny Barn, you don’t need to bring a tent or even own one. Whether you’re planning a getaway trip and simply don’t want to mess with all the camping gear, our Tiny Barn lets you show up with your bedding and a much shorter packing list. If you don’t have room for bedding or just don’t have any along, no problem. Sheets, pillows, blankets, and towels can be arranged for an additional fee.

3. Have an extended camping season: Don’t let the changing seasons keep you from camping. When you stay in our Tiny Barn, you can comfortably camp any time of the year to pack in as much vacation fun as possible.

4. Stay warm and dry: There’s nothing wrong with a rainy-day hike or a lake adventure, but at the end of the day, you want a warm, cozy place to sleep. The Tiny Barn can keep you out of the elements, no matter what Mother Nature has planned.

But that’s not all. During the season, you can also take advantage of our $6 baskets and pick all your favorite herbs and organic vegetables. There’s nothing quite like the taste of freshly-picked produce, paired with our exceptional meats and eggs.

Please bring your own bedding as there is a bed available. The Tiny Barn also has a portable heater to keep you warm during colder nights, but there is no water available.

Inside, you’ll find a memory foam queen bed, a table countertop, two bar stools, and two end tables. If you’d like additional seating, feel free to bring your own camping chair or something similar as there are no extra chairs provided in the cabin.

Yes, we are pleased to accommodate one dog.  There is an additional charge of a pet fee for each night for your furry friend.  We also kindly request your cooperation in adhering to our Doggy Rules, which can be found here.

Regrettably, we are unable to accommodate children on the Farmstead. As a working farm, machinery and animals create potential safety for younger people.  We have a minimum age requirement of 18 years. Your understanding in prioritizing the safety of all is greatly appreciated.

The outdoor shower is located by the restrooms along the barn and information stand. It is private with a door and changing area inside.

The bathroom area is by the barn. Look for this building located by the barn and the campground check-in stand.  You have access to a hot/cold water double sink and a shared porta-potty in high season that both benefit from a regular professional clean weekly.

The Tiny Barn Cabin does not have a water source, only a water dispenser. However, a double sink with hot water is located by the bathrooms.

Yes, there is a picnic table, two chairs, and a fire ring.

Yes, the Tiny Barn Cabin has power and lights.

Yes, we offer a BBQ for you to cook up some delicious wagyu beef.

 You can pre-purchase your products before arrival, which is highly recommended for optimal thawing time. To shop, go here: Farmstead Store.

Please order all meats 24 hours before your arrival, so we can collect them and get them thawed out for you to cook when you arrive.   If you wish to purchase additional meats or items. Please make an appointment with Lisa, as our store is not open daily. She will gladly open the store for you, and you can browse our products. 

Yes. There is a fire ring, and wood can be purchased by clicking  here

You have complete access to all of the property, so you may take full advantage of the fields to wander through. From riding bikes to leisurely walks through the raspberry fields, it’s there for you to enjoy. For your convenience, you will find a map of the property located at the check-in station.

As for the barn, we ask that you kindly respect the barn information provided to you in The Barn Activities tab once you have booked a stay with us.

Cancellation must be made by the Lead Guest in writing.  If the reservation is canceled before the remaining balance is due, your 25% deposit will be retained but no further charges will be payable.  The full payment will be retained if the reservation is canceled after the balance payment has been made. There will be no refund. We highly recommend the Lead Guest purchase travel insurance so that if the booking has to be canceled at any time they don’t lose any monies under this policy.

The  Hot Tub is available for our guests upon request and can be reserved for one hour for private use for a fee.
